We have some terrific news about our campaign to buy 2177 Gottingen St. We have recently received a very generous donation from an individual donor that will make it possible for us to purchase the building! This donor, Dr. Bob Fredrickson, is a local hero within the queer community, having been the primary care doctor for most HIV/AIDS patients in Halifax in the first decades of the epidemic, and then went on to be a resource for trans health. We are honoured to receive such a large donation from such a respected community member.
We invite you to celebrate the purchase of the Radstorm Building with us on Sunday, May 25 from 1-5pm at RadStorm. There will be tours of the building, food, music, screenprinting demos, and more! This is also a chance for us to celebrate all of the people who made this possible.
We want to thank everyone who supported us in our campaign to own our forever home. We would never have been able to achieve this dream without the support from our community, including Dr. Bob Fredrickson, our investors in the community bonds campaign, the contribution from the HRM, RadStorm members who worked so hard to make this happen, and RadStorm’s incredibly supportive building owners, Walter & Mary Schlech.
