in search of “home” for transnational resistance
This is an in-person zine making workshop, which aims to create a space where racialized international students and international graduates, and racialized im/migrant youths who’s been wanting to reflect on their relationship with the notion of “home” and how that relates to resisting the colonial, patriarchal, capitalist, white supremacist society we live in here and everywhere. This workshop will also provide space to challenge the “successful immigrant” images put forward by governments and corporations to embed and internalize the oppressive system.
We invite BIPOC/racialized international students (current or former), and/or BIPOC/racialized im/migrant youths who resonate with the above statement. There will be suggested prompts based on anti-oppressive principles for reflection and inspiration. Feel free to bring any materials that you would like to incorporate as well.
Format: 1pm to 4pm zine making.
Facilitator: Tabasa
