“Feminism doesn’t have to be the F-Word”
Join us for the launch, and first meeting, of the YWCA’s FEM (Feminist Empowerment Movement) Collective Halifax.
This collective is an initiative to gather like-minded Halifax Feminists to share their lived experiences, discuss difficult topics, and continue the fight for equity in our society!
DATE: Thursday, October 10, 2019
TIME: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm (17h00 à 19h00)
COST: Free
FOOD: Light refreshments will be served with coffee, tea, and water. (Please inform us of allergies or dietary restrictions). You are more than welcome to bring something to share, but please don’t feel obligated to do so.
MEETING TOPIC: The first meeting will be about Feminism and the Feminist Movement in general. We want to get to know you, what you want to talk about during these meetings, and what Feminism means to you.
SPECIAL REQUEST: Please bring feminist books, articles, poems, and other forms of literature and knowledge to share and/or part with at the end of the night. Attendees are encouraged to take some “new-to-you” literature home with them.
SAFE SPACE: This meeting will be taking place in a Safe Space. Discrimination and inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.
