This queer hang will be about coming out and what those experiences have been like. What it means and how it feels to have to continue to come out and keep asserting your identity to the same people or in new situations. Let’s talk about positive stories – when sharing who we are was supported and nurtured or where it was positive for those close to us. How do we imagine coming out should look like?

Let’s get into privilege and how who we are changes those experiences and recognize the fights we still need to win. Where does coming out empower or endanger us and how is that different for everyone. What does solidarity look like in these struggles?

While we talk about this we will be building a wind chime that we can hang in Radstorm! We can contemplate the idea of making sound to take up space and build something unique and beautiful. There will be trinkets, beads, knick knacks and supplies at the space but feel free to bring something that speaks to you.

Not all queer hangouts are child friendly, given some of the topics, while this one may be heavy if you feel comfortable bringing your babies they are welcome to hang out too. We will have coffee, tea and some treats – if you want to bring a shareable feel free!
